SOS has obtained a $30,000 grant from Kansas Gas Service.
The grant, officially through the ONE Gas Foundation, helps to support the Stronger Together campaign which is helping SOS consolidate and move all its facilities to the SOS Community Advocacy and Service Complex — the new name for 1420 C of E Drive.
The consolidation process is underway, with staffers moving in to the new building shortly after New Year’s Day. Fundraising also continues for the move, with the campaign goal now at $4 million. SOS Director Connie Cahoone says fundraising is nearing goal, and she says the agency’s goal is to fully move into the building without needing a mortgage.
SOS currently provides an emergency shelter, victim advocacy services and a range of prevention and education programs. SOS serves residents in Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Greenwood, Morris and Osage counties.
