The legislative session is underway. For those wanting to visit the Statehouse to take in the procedures, that won’t happen until further notice.
The Statehouse is closed to all tours, including those typically held on Saturdays. Public events are also postponed.
The Capitol Visitors Center says the decision was made as a safety measure with the legislative session beginning and lots of new members. It also comes as the state installed more features so residents can track legislative proceedings, including committee meetings and votes, through the Legislature’s website at www.kslegislature.org.
