Three of Lyon County’s neighboring counties updated their coronavirus data Monday.
Chase County added seven new cases over the past week, so its total is 253. All the new cases were in the community category, which now has 150 cases. Numbers at Chase County Care and Rehab remain steady at 19 and the numbers at the Chase County Detention are still at 84. Three people have died. There are six active cases.
Greenwood County added six new cases over the weekend. It now has 532 total cases. There are 64 active cases, down from 75 Friday. Two people have died.
Morris County added 39 new cases since Jan. 4 and now has 478 total. There are 40 active cases, up five from a week ago. Six people have died with 11 deaths awaiting final information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. At Diversicare of Council Grove, the numbers of infected patients remain steady, with 52 residents and 40 staff contracting the virus. Four people have died and eight deaths are awaiting final information from KDHE.
