The rate of new coronavirus cases is Lyon County is slowing down, based on the last two reports.
Lyon County Public Health announced 42 new cases between Friday and Monday, down from the 58 new cases between last Wednesday and Friday — and down from the 89 new cases announced last Wednesday.
One patient died over the weekend, so the death toll is now at 66. Three other deaths are awaiting final cause from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
Active cases increased from 175 Friday to 186 Monday. Active hospitalizations remain at 10.
This is a busy day for reports areawide. Greenwood, Morris and Wabaunsee counties typically report new data on Mondays. Chase and Morris counties report either on Mondays or Tuesdays.
