Coronavirus cases are increasing in Chase and Morris counties.
Both counties issued their weekly reports Tuesday.
For Chase County, new cases went up 12 over the past week and are now at 238 total. Active cases went up two and are now at 12. All the movement was in the community category, with stable numbers at Chase County Care and Rehab and the Chase County Detention Center. Three deaths have been reported.
In Morris County, new cases increased by 31 and are now at 404 total. Active cases dipped from 49 to 34 over the week. Four people have died, with 12 death certificates pending from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
The Morris County Health Department is still tracking the outbreak at Diversicare of Council Grove. The number of infected residents is steady at 52 and the number of infected staff increased slightly to 40. There have been two deaths associated with the outbreak. Nine deaths are awaiting final cause from KDHE.
Lyon and Greenwood counties are expected to issue reports Wednesday.
