Emporia city commissioners have two meetings Wednesday morning.
Commissioners will start with a study meeting at 10 am. Several items will be discussed, including a proposal from Ignite Emporia on a public-private partnership for a new housing subdivision that could include as many as 50 buildable lots. The location for that development is pending and additional details will be announced later.
Updates on COVID-19 SPARK funds, legislative matters and the city’s fireworks ordinance are planned. Commissioners will also review the Community Improvement District application for Flint Hills Crossing, the development poised to bring Quik Trip to Emporia just south of 18th and Graphic Arts.
An action meeting follows at 10:45 am where commissioners will formally consider a memorandum of understanding with Ignite Emporia on the housing partnership.
Both meetings will be in the Municipal Courtroom.
