A small fire developed inside a west Emporia restaurant Monday morning.
Firefighters went to Applebee’s shortly before 9 am to handle the fire. Battalion Chief Bill Harmon says grease had built up on the back of a fryer unit near a plastic gas line and caught fire.
Damage was minimal but the gas line will have to be replaced. There were no injuries. Harmon says the restaurant can resume normal business activities as scheduled Monday.
