Coronavirus test options for the public are taking a break for the holidays.
Test lines at Flint Hills Community Health Center, Newman Regional Health and the Lyon County Fairgrounds are all closed until Monday.
Lyon County Health Officer Renee Hively says test results from the Fairgrounds test site through GoGetTested.com should be available for individuals soon. Hively says GoGetTested.com is responsible for contacting residents with the initial results, but Public Health will then use that data for contact tracing.
It’s unclear when those results will be available as part of the county’s reports coming out Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The Fairgrounds site had issues last Friday with long lines and not enough supplies or staff to meet the demand. More staff and test kits were on hand as soon as Saturday, and no issues have been reported since Friday. Daily stats have not been released since the weekend, but close to 600 total tests were administered Friday and Saturday. People going through the Fairgrounds test with questions about their results need to call 877-837-8461.
The test lines at Flint Hills Community Health Center and Newman Regional Health will continue based on community need. The test line at the Fairgrounds will end Dec. 30.
