The Emporia State mens basketball team outscored Central Missouri 73-64 Saturday in their final game before the Christmas break.
There were 7 lead changes and 4 ties before the Hornets used a 13-3 run to build an 11 point lead they would never give up.
Emporia State Coach Craig Doty liked the way the Hornets kept battling.
Austin Downing and Dallas Bailey scored 16 points to led the offense. Bailey made 4 three-point shots, 3 in the second half.
Jumah’Ri Turner added 14 points and Gage McGuire finished with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Emporia State men go into the Christmas Break with a 4-1 record.
Their next game is scheduled for December 30th at home against Central Oklahoma.
