The Emporia High basketball teams closed out 2020 with wins over Great Bend Friday night.
The Lady Spartans won their game 55-32. They used a 15-0 run in the first half to build a lead they would not give up. Gracie Gilpin led the offense with 20 points. Rebecca Snyder added 10 points.
Emporia High girls Coach Carolyn Dorsey was pleased with the way they adjusted after a sluggish 1st quarter.
The Lady Spartans improve to 3-2 on the season.
The Emporia High boys outscored Great Bend 52-41. The Spartans outscored the Panthers 17-9 in the second quarter to overcome a sluggish 1st quarter.
Emporia High Coach Beau Welch said they improved during the game.
Charles Snyder led the way with a 27 point 10 rebound night.
The Emporia High boys improve to 2-2 for the season.
The next scheduled games will be on January 8 at home against Junction City.
