Winter break begins this weekend for Emporia school students. Parents, meanwhile, are encouraged to apply before the end of the year for free or reduced meal benefits if they believe they may qualify.
The district says the application, online at www.usd253.org, gives families reduced meal prices if they are approved. However, there are other services that could also have fees reduced and there could be increased pandemic electronic bank transfer funding for approved families.
