Two area counties reported coronavirus updates Tuesday.
Chase County went from 204 total cases Dec. 7 to 215 Tuesday after 11 new cases were announced in the community. The community total is now 114 cases, with 17 at Chase County Care and Rehab and 84 at the Chase County Detention Center. All 11 active cases are in the community. There have been three deaths in total.
Morris County, meanwhile, added 40 cases between Dec. 7 and Tuesday and now has 339 total. There are currently 86 active cases, down from 115. Two deaths have been confirmed.
Morris County also shed more light into the ongoing outbreak at Diversicare of Council Grove. The long-term care facility has 52 residents with COVID-19 along with 32 staffers. There have been seven deaths during the current outbreak, but the final cause is awaiting confirmation from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
Lyon County and Greenwood County are slated for reports Wednesday.
