Flint Hills Community Health Center continued its recent streak of monthly financial gains in November.
During the FHCHC Board of Directors meeting Tuesday, the monthly financial report showed the health center saw a $110,000 net gain for November above the budgeted gain of $44,000. This brings the year to date total for the health center to $1.3 million.
Chief Financial Officer Seresa Howe says the year to date gain is largely due to the forgiveness of the health center’s SBA Paycheck Protection Program loan. She says the loan was originally listed as a liability due to the health center having to originally repay it, however, with the loan’s forgiveness it essentially becomes a grant meaning it is generating income for FHCHC.
CEO Renee Hively says those additional funds somewhat turned around what could have been a rough financial year.
Later in the report, Hively announced the Health Center will be ending its COVID-19 testing line after this week. Hively says that decision was made as the new testing site at the Lyon County Fairgrounds is set to begin drive-thru testing on Friday.
With that said, Hively tells residents the health center is only ceasing traditional COVID testing and will continue to offer rapid testing for cohorts who meet testing criteria. Plans for resuming the COVID-19 testing line after the www.GoGetTested.com/Kansas effort ends Dec. 30 are pending.
The FHCHC Board of Directors will reconvene for its monthly meeting at noon on Jan. 26 inside the Havenhill Conference Room and via Zoom.
