With cool to chilly weather now here on a regular basis and typical winter temperatures coming eventually, Lyon County Public Health is encouraging residents to make sure their homes are well ventilated and also humidified as best as possible.
Emergency Preparedness Director Jennifer Millbern says having adequate humidity levels in your home can do a lot to slow the virus — or other illnesses.
Ventilation is another key.
Millbern also suggests talking with the heating, ventilation and air conditioning experts servicing your home for options.
Based off state data, Lyon County is moving back down the list of total cases per county in Kansas.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has Lyon County with 3,012 total cases since late March, above the 2,851 listed by Lyon County Public Health. The state numbers have Lyon County 14th in cases per county, down from 12th a week ago. Lyon County has been as high as eighth and as low as 15th. It is 17th in population per county.
