USD 417 Morris County is allowing activities this month, but it’s staying with its remote learning model for junior high and high school students until at least Jan. 10.
After over two hours of discussion in special session Wednesday, the board decided to continue with remote learning until Jan. 10. The district has been in remote-only education since Dec. 1, and the board had considered a brief return to in-person classes between Dec. 14-22.
Activities will return Dec. 14, based on parent choice, and there will be a modified practice schedule. The board is not allowing spectators through Jan. 11, affirming its decision on the topic late last month despite the Kansas State High School Activities Association’s Board of Directors’ approval of two passes per participant family for athletic events.
