Several area counties issued coronavirus activity reports Monday, whether for the weekend or the past week.
Greenwood County added 20 cases since Friday and now has 298 confirmed cases since late March. Active cases are up from 70 to 82. There have been two deaths.
Additionally, county commissioners have passed a resolution saying masks need to be work in public places until further notice. This includes residents either being inside or in line to enter any public space, receiving healthcare services of any sort or outdoors and unable to maintain six-foot social distancing. It also includes employees in any space visited by customers or members of the public, any space where food is prepared or served and common areas inside or near businesses.
Chase County is now at an even 200 cases, up 13 from a week ago. Most of the increase is in the community category, although there are two new cases at the Chase County Detention Center. There are 14 overall active cases, including 12 in the community and the others at the jail. There have been three deaths.
Osage County added 43 cases since Thursday and has 557 total. Active cases dipped from 86 to 73. The number of deaths remains steady at six.
Wabaunsee County’s caseload went from 330 Thursday to 338 Monday. The total has recently been corrected after 10 cases were entered twice. The active caseload went from 41 to 34. One person died between the reporting periods, so the county total is now six.
