The drop in active COVID-19 cases seen last week has continued Monday, however, the rate of decline has slowed considerably from last week.
Lyon County Public Health reported 103 new COVID-19 cases Monday for the weekend bringing the overall case total to 2,735 since late March. Public Health also reported 107 new recoveries which dropped the active case total to 251 Monday from 255 Friday.
This is the first time since last Monday the drop in active cases was in the single digits after the number dropped by 144 cases last Monday, 165 cases last Wednesday and 29 cases on Friday.
The number of deaths remained at 50 plus three deaths awaiting final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The number of active hospitalizations dropped from 16 to 11.
