Lights, music and the spirit of giving will fill the night’s air in Emporia Sunday evening for the second annual AceItUp Christmas Tree Lighting and Toy Drive.
The event will take place at 6th and Merchant beginning at 6 pm. Requested donations include monetary donations, gift cards or toys to be distributed to local foster children for the holiday season. Residents are asked to drive up to the location at 6th and Merchant to drop off donations or have volunteers pick them up.
While donations are delivered, local singers will serenade those in attendance with a selection of Christmas Carols throughout the evening. KVOE will broadcast from the lighting ceremony and toy drive that evening on KVOE 1400 am and 96.9 FM.
The event will also be live-streamed on Facebook to accommodate social distancing protocols as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
