Emporia City Commissioners will hold back-to-back meetings once again Wednesday.
Commissioners will hold a study session beginning at noon during which time they will discuss the reopening plans for the Emporia Public Library, receive a SPARK funding update, discuss plans for activities inside White Auditorium and discuss the potential purchase of asset management software.
Following the conclusion of discussions, commissioners will move directly into an action session where commissioners will consider approving the purchase of asset management software discussed during the previous study session. Additionally, commissioners may consider approving a memorandum of understanding with Evergy for the purchase of property at 600 Road 180 for the construction of a service center in that location.
Additionally, commissioners will consider approving a request for the city’s official boundary list.
Recognition will also be given to the city’s Finance Department for receiving the CAFR Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the US and Canada. This is the 34th consecutive year the city of Emporia has received the award.
One executive session is also on the agenda. The action session is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm.
