(kcroyals) The Kansas City Royals Monday annonced the signing of outfielder Michael Taylor to a one-year deal for $1.75 million. Taylor had spent the last 7 seasons with the Washington Nationals.
Royals General Manager Dayton Moore says Taylor will get a shot at being the Royals everyday centerfielder.
To make room for Taylor, the Royals designated left-hand pitcher Foster Griffin for assignment.
The Royals and left-hander Mike Minor are in agreement on a two-year deal, pending a physical, sources told MLB.com.
Minor was with the Royals in 2016 and 2017. He spent 2018 and 2019 and part of last season with Texas before being traded to Oakland.
