Sentencing is coming early next year after one defendant in an alleged shooting incident in west Emporia reached a plea agreement.
Hector Velazquez recently pleaded no contest to one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery following a shooting at 1213 Beverly in June. The shooting victim survived. Court proceedings for co-defendants Edgar Gilberto Gonzalez II and William Walters have not completed.
Prosecutors says Velazquez also pleaded no contest to possession of methamphetamine in a separate case.
Sentencings for these cases will be at 1:30 pm Jan. 11.
