Residents hoping for a repeat of Saturday’s rainfall may be disappointed by Tuesday’s totals.
The KVOE studios picked up 0.20 inches of rainfall, while the Emporia Municipal Airport got 0.11 inches. Other totals:
*Ninth and Lawrence: 0.25 inches
*Allen: 0.25 inches
Saturday’s rainfall amounts ranged from 0.33 inches in Eureka to 0.70 inches in east Emporia. Any rain is welcome with the southern half of the KVOE listening area in moderate drought and the northern half listed as abnormally dry, according to the US Drought Monitor.
There is a slight chance of rain and snow in Saturday night’s forecast, but the next week looks to be mainly dry.
