A man accused of trying to rob an Emporia motel early this year has accepted a plea agreement in the case.
Jeremy Spicer accepted a plea for attempted robbery and is now set for sentencing Jan. 8. Charges of attempted aggravated robbery and making false information were dropped.
Spicer allegedly tried to get into the cash register at Econo Lodge Hotel, 2511 West 18th, on Jan. 7. He also acted in an allegedly suspicious manner with the hotel clerk afterward before allegedly telling the clerk to put money on the counter. The clerk ran and called police.
