Lyon County has seen a hard spike in coronavirus cases over the past three-plus weeks, and area counties are also noting increased activity.
*Chase County is now at 154 total cases, including 61 in the community, 15 at Chase County Care and Rehab and 78 at the Chase County Detention Center. It’s an increase of 15 total cases, while the active caseload is down six to 14 over the past week. There are three deaths.
*Morris County added seven cases and now has 147 total. There are 27 active cases, down five from last week.
*Osage County is now at 311 total cases, up from 182 on Nov. 5. Active cases are now at 120, up from 25 n Nov. 5. The death toll increased from five to six. The health department made no reports last week due to staffing issues.
*Wabaunsee County has not updated its overall total since Nov. 9, but it reports 98 residents that are both ill with COVID and isolated as of this past Friday. That’s up from 52 active cases. Wabaunsee County has also reset its mass gathering limit to 45, instituted a mandatory mask policy for everybody using the Courthouse and other county building and closed the Health Department to the public through Friday.
