A small earthquake jostled parts of western Chase County on Friday evening.
A magnitude 2.2 quake happened about six miles north of Cedar Point shortly before 7 pm, according to the Kansas Geological Survey. No injuries or damage have been reported.
This is the first quake in Chase County since a magnitude 2.2 quake hit the west edge of the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve on July 31 and is the county’s eighth quake of the year. All the quakes have been between magnitudes 2 and 2.8. No damage or injuries have been reported with the prior activity.
