(yahoosports) Wichita State and coach Gregg Marshall are expected to part ways this week after the school launched an investigation into his conduct following disturbing allegations from several of his former players, according to a report at Watch Stadium.com and confirmed by cbssports.
Marshall has been with the program since 2007, and compiled a 331-121 record there while leading the Shockers to seven NCAA tournaments and a Final Four run in 2013. The 57-year-old is Wichita State’s all-time winningest coach.
Several of Marshall’s former players came forward last month and alleged that the coach was both physically and verbally abusive.
Marshall was accused of punching a player multiple times at Wichita State, putting his hands around a staff member’s neck and even trying to punch another Shocker’s student-athlete through his car window during a road rage incident in a parking lot. He also allegedly body-shamed another former player during a practice by grabbing his stomach.
Wichita State is scheduled to open their season November 25th against Utah State.
