A man accused of two separate stabbings in Lyon County over the last 13 months will go to prison for the crimes.
Cody Risner, 27, was sentenced to 33 months total in prison after stabbings in October 2019 and this past February. The maximum Risner could have received was 41 months.
Risner was first charged after an alleged stabbing at 1201 Triplett last year. He was also charged after an alleged stabbing at 605 East 11th back in February.
Shortly before Risner was supposed to go to trial for the October 2019 incident and shortly after the alleged incident in February, he allegedly failed to appear for court appearances in Lyon County. He also failed to appear for at least one hearing for a domestic battery charge in Coffey County before he was arrested in April.
