The number of Presbyterian Manor employees infected by coronavirus now stands at five after two workers were confirmed with the virus this week.
Vice President for Health and Wellness Jeanne Gerstenkorn says 96 employees and 13 residents were tested Monday. A direct care worker in memory care and a non-direct care worker both tested positive while all the residents were negative. Like the other three workers announced last week, the employees are recuperating at home.
Presbyterian Manor is surveillance testing its employees twice a week as mandated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Lyon County Public Health is offering guidance on testing memory care residents, with those tests possibly taking place next week. All other health care residents and staff are being tested Wednesday.
This is the third current situation where coronavirus is affecting workers or residents of long-term care facilities. Sunset Manor in Waverly has one worker infected as of last week. Chase County Care and Rehab now has 14 people with the virus.
