Financial assistance could be coming for two local agencies following the Emporia City Commission’s upcoming action session.
Among the agenda items up for approval will be consideration of submitting an application to the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation for an emergency solutions grant. The funds would benefit both Plumb Place and Family Promis of the Flint Hills to assist their efforts in serving the local community.
The funding will help both agencies to provide emergency shelter, food and needed essential services for local residents.
Separately, commissioners will also consider the appointment of a representative to the Regional Development Association of East Central Kansas and the awarding of a bid for a new dump truck.
The meeting begins at 1:30 pm inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
