Three employees at Emporia’s Presbyterian Manor have tested positive for coronavirus.
All three are direct-care employees and all three tests were confirmed Oct. 28-29. They are recuperating at home. Contact tracing has determined four health center residents and two assisted living may have been exposed, so they are being isolated as a precautionary measure.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has mandated surveillance testing for all staff. That testing is taking place once a week.
This is at least the third separate instance of Presbyterian Manor employees developing COVID-19. Two workers tested positive as part of separate announcements in early June.
Vice President for Health and Wellness Jeanne Gerstenkorn says Presbyterian Manor “remains committed to doing all we can to ensure the safety of our residents and employees.”
