After casting your vote in the general election Tuesday, be sure to stop by the Clint Bowyer Community Building to fill up on some delicious soup.
The Emporia Farmer’s Market will be continuing its annual election day tradition Soup-a-Palooza with plenty of delicious options available according to Emporia Farmers Market Director Jessica Hopkins. Hopkins says they will be offering three different homemade soups to feed hungry voters.
The cost of tickets is an $8 suggested donation which will give residents one pint of soup, a fresh-made dessert and will enter them into a drawing for an assortment of prizes. This year’s Soup-a-Palooza will be drive-thru only and Hopkins asks that residents purchase tickets for the fundraiser in advance.
This is the Famers Market’s largest annual fundraiser and despite the change in format, Hopkins is anticipating a strong turnout.
Tickets can be purchased at the Lyon County Extension Office or Twin Rivers Winery. Soup-a-Palooza will take place from 11 am to 4 pm.
