Emporia High and area High School cross country runners will be competing at State Saturday.
Emporia High will have two runners competing in the 5A State race.
Senior Treyson True says this years race will be different.
Treyson also says this will be a very competitive race.
Freshman Micah Sheffy-Harris said she was happy to qualify.
Micah said overcoming the mental challenges of the season was a big accomplishment.
The 5A state cross country meet will be held in Augusta.
The Olpe boys will be running at the 1A State cross country meet along with Macy Smith of Olpe and Emmy Punches of Burlingame.
Running in the 2A state meet will be Brock Lauer and Cooper Schroer of Chase County.

From Northern Heights Cooper Hamlin and Jerrod Campbell in the boys race and Teagan Hines in the girls race.
Four runners from Burlington will be running in the 3A State championship. Seth Jarvis and Brian Payer in the boys race. Lillyan Gerow and Marijane Huff of Burlington and Jordyn Picolet of Council Grove in the girls race.
