Millions of dollars in COVID-19 relief funds have been approved by the State Finance Council.
The board approved investing up to $45 million in testing as part of the state’s new unified testing strategy as well as another $20 million for small businesses.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment says it could invest up to $95 million to start the unified testing strategy. The Finance Council had already approved $50 million, so Thursday’s announcement gives KDHE the wherewithal to start the process.
The $20 million in new funding for small business grants comes on top of $35 million already approved.
