The Chase County Health Department has announced a coronavirus outbreak at Chase County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Cottonwood Falls.
The cluster was confirmed Tuesday. There are 12 confirmed cases, nine of which are active. One death has been announced. Comments from both Chase County Care and Rehab and the Health Department are pending.
Overall, there are 36 community cases with four active cases and two deaths.
Several long-term care facilities in the KVOE listening area have had coronavirus clusters since the pandemic began in late March, including Emporia’s Flint Hills Care Center and Holiday Resort and Burlington’s Life Care Center.
Elsewhere across the KVOE listening area, Morris County added seven new cases over the past week with its report Tuesday and now has 65 total cases. Nine are active.
