Emporia Board of Education members have a regular meeting Wednesday night.
Board members will have additional discussions on whether to move into Phase 3 of the district’s COVID-19 education plan, where the on-site cohort of students needing specialized support would still attend classes daily at Emporia Middle School and Emporia High, while the number of remaining students would increase from 25 percent to 50 percent and those students would attend in-person classes twice a week instead of once. Nothing would change at the elementary level.
Further discussions about enrollment and headcount are planned. The district may also set the guaranteed maximum price for renovations at Emporia High as part of the Building for the Future bond approved last year.
The meeting starts at 7 pm at Mary Herbert and will be available online at www.usd253.org.
