Emporia city commissioners have an action session Wednesday night.
Near the end of the meeting, commissioners will discuss whether to extend the current mask mandate, which is set to end Wednesday, to Nov. 21. No other changes are expected if this passes. This is separate from the Lyon County health order, involving mass gathering limits and other policy points, now in effect until Nov. 12.
In other business, commissioners will likely pick a contractor for a water main project involving Elm Street from Sixth Avenue to Newman Regional Health and Ninth from Elm to Lawrence. An agreement with the Kansas Department of Transportation for preliminary design work involving adjustments at Sixth and Prairie could also see approval.
The meeting starts at 7 pm at the Municipal Court Room and will be available for public viewing on the city’s Facebook page.
