Emporia Public Works is investigating a water leak on the east side of town.
The Water Department has East Ninth closed between Whildin and Waverly until at least noon and possibly early afternoon. There is currently no word on the number of customers affected.
Drivers will need to find alternate routes to their destinations as the exploratory phase is underway.
