Thursday is the first day that the Emporia State basketball teams can hold full scale practices.
Both teams have been able to hold limited workouts since school began.
The Emporia State women return 7 players and have added 5 new players. Coach Toby Wynn likes the make up of this years team.
Coach Wynn says they are not as far along as he would like.
Sophomore Tre’Zure Jobe, last years MIAA Freshman of the year and was a 1st team all MIAA and 2nd team all region, says they have unfinished business after having the season halted just before the NCAA tournament began.
Senior Kali Martin likes the team chemistry.
The Emporia State men return 8 players that saw action last year and a redshirt freshman. 6 new players have been added to the roster. Coach Craig Doty says the returnees have set the tone.
Coach Doty says another key is they are healthy.
Senior Jumah’Ri Turner says he is ready to get the season started.
Senior Duncan Fort likes the make up of this years team.
The current schedule has Emporia State opening their seasons November 19th at Nebraska Kearney.
