Emporia State University has been selected by the NCAA to host the 2024 and 2026 Division II Outdoor National Track and Field Championships.

Emporia State hosted the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 1995, 1996, and 2006. Coach Blocker says that may have helped get the bid.
The National Championships are expected to bring 754 student-athletes, nearly 200 coaches and over 100 officials to the Emporia Area over the Memorial Day weekend.
