After a dip in active cases Tuesday, Lyon County saw another rise in both overall and active case numbers Wednesday.
Public Health reported 11 new cases and six new recoveries pushing the overall caseload to 1,165. The active caseload rose from 76 to 81.
The number of deaths remained steady at 37 plus four deaths pending final cause classification from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
For clusters:
*Colleges and Universities remains the only active category at this time with one active cluster, 68 total cases, seven active cases and no deaths.
Elsewhere in the KVOE listening area:
*Greenwood County announced a correction from its report Tuesday. The correction was in regards to a female 60-70 years of age who has been determined to have not tested positive for COVID-19 following an investigation into the case. The individual has been released from quarantine and all contacts have been notified. The county’s overall total now stands at 66 with 16 active cases and 50 total recoveries.
*Osage County reported one new case bringing the overall total to 131 with 18 active cases and one death.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment announced 1,293 new cases and 67 new deaths statewide Wednesday. The overall total now stands at 69,155 cases and 838 deaths across Kansas since the onset of the pandemic.
