Even as Lyon County’s overall caseload continues to climb, the county continues its recent slide down the overall leaderboard.
Based on stats from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Lyon County is now 15th in overall caseload by county after being passed by Butler County over the last week. KDHE lists Lyon County with 1,079 cases, below the Lyon County Public Health number of 1,130. Lyon County is 17th in population by county.
Public Health says Lyon County added 36 cases since Oct. 1. The overall percent positivity rate is at 15.7 percent, above the weekly positive rate of 6.8 percent. Hospitalizations have been between three and five patients per day since mid-September and are currently at four.
KDHE says there are over 500 cases in area counties. Coffey County leads the list with 136 cases, based on KDHE stats. Morris County has the area low figure with 47.
Johnson County leads the state with 12,600 cases. Sedgwick County is second with almost 9,850. Kansas currently has over 65,800 cases with 763 deaths.
