Two of Emporia’s education institutions noted small increases in coronavirus activity in their weekly reports Friday.
*Emporia State University added seven positive tests for the week and has 64 cases total. Seven cases are active. One student is in on-campus isolation and another is in on-campus quarantine.
*Flint Hills Technical College has no current cases. Two people associated with the college are in quarantine. The college does not list its cumulative total.
*Emporia Public Schools added three new cases in staff, one each in the preK-elementary, secondary grades and support staff levels, and one in a high school student. Like USD 251’s North Lyon County Elementary earlier this week, USD 253 had two elementary students that were originally listed as positive but were mislabeled by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
