The .5k fundraiser for Camp Alexander is this Saturday.
This .5k walk costs just $30 for registration and includes 2 beers, a t-shirt, and admittance to a taco bar. All proceeds go toward scholarships for kids who can’t afford camp.
Ashley Kopecky, one of the event organizers, says this is a great opportunity for all types of supporters, even those who aren’t marathon runners.
Registration begins at 2 p.m. at Harry and Lloyd’s in Americus. The .5k will maintain social distancing by allowing participants to start at whatever time they see fit.
There will also be minnow races starting at 4 p.m. The taco bar starts at 5 p.m. and live music will take place starting at 8 p.m. There will also be 3 surprise activities for those who attend.
Only 32 spots are available due to COVID-19 so make sure to get there early.
