3 goals in less then 5 minutes did in the Emporia High boys soccer team in a 5-3 loss to Wichita Trinity Tuesday night.
The 3 goals came in the first 10 minutes of play. Hector Hernandez would score twice for Emporia High to cut the deficit to 3-2 before halftime. A penalty kick by Hernandez tied the match at 3, five minutes into the 2nd half.
Trinity would retake the lead with over 30 minutes to play and added a penalty kick with 4:37 to play to seal the win.
Coach Victor Ibarra said they need to improve how they begin matches.
The Spartans are now 4-5-1 on the season. They are scheduled to play at Topeka Seaman Thursday.
