For the fourth time in six years, Emporia State University has received a major grant for rehabilitation services.
ESU has obtained a $1.25 million grant to train vocational rehabilitation professionals to help the disabled find work. The grant money will provide tuition, training and professional development to students, who will receive master’s degrees in clinical rehabilitation counseling if they complete the program.
The goal of this grant is also to address shortages in rehabilitation counseling services across the Midwest.
Prospective students have until Nov. 13 to apply. Students in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma have selection priority but students from other states are also encouraged to apply.
The grant runs through September 2025 and will let ESU train over 20 counselors during that time.
