The Chase County Bulldogs improved to 2-0 in district play with a 46-0 victory over Flint Hills Friday night.
Chase County would open the scoring with an 18-yard touchdown run on the bulldog’s first play of the game. Sophomore quarterback Mitch Budke would add four more touchdowns, two rushing and two passing, to give the Bulldogs a 38-0 lead late in the second quarter.
Senior Blaise Holloway would seal the win with a 55-yard pick-six giving the Bulldogs their fourth win of the season. Budke led his team offensively with 141 yards of total offense.
He says not overlooking their opponent was a big key to their success.
Coach Brody Vandegrift says his message to his team this year has been to “control their destiny.”
Senior Tucker Travnachik led the Mustangs with 35 yards rushing.
Chase County put up 183 yards of total offense on just 10 plays to close out the night. Flint Hills ended the evening with 79 yards of total offense.
Chase County now improves to 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in district play. Flint Hills falls to 0-5 on the season and 0-2 in district play.
