The Kansas City Royals held off the Detroit Tigers 8-7 Thursday night.
The Royals jumped out to a 4-0 lead thanks to a Salvador Perez 3 run home run in the 1st inning.
Detroit tied the game at 4 before the Royals scored 4 runs in the 6th, Maikel Franco hit a solo home run, Jorge Soler doubled driving in a run and Adalberto Mondesi drove in 2 runs with a single.
The Royals and Tigers play again Friday night.
The game will not be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM due to High School Football.
