For the second straight weekday, Lyon County had a slight increase in new COVID-19 case coupled with a notable decline in the number of active cases.
Lyon County Public Health reported five new cases Wednesday, moving the county’s total to 1,036 since late March. The active caseload dropped from 57 to 50 after 12 patient recoveries were noted. On Tuesday, Public Health reported four new cases and 10 recovered patients.
The death toll remains steady at 33. Another three deaths are awaiting final cause determination from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

*Long Term Care: 1 active cluster, 160 total cases, 2 active cases, 24 deaths (Plus 3 pending death certificates from KDHE)
*Colleges and Universities: 2 active cluster, 62 total cases, 12 active cases, 0 deaths
*Schools: 1 active cluster, 5 total cases, 2 active cases, 0 deaths
Areawide, Osage County added five new cases to go to 96 total with 16 currently active, up from 11 earlier in the week.
