The Emporia High boys soccer team was shutout by Washburn Rural 5-0 Tuesday night.
All 5 goals were scored in the 2nd half. Coach Victor Ibarra said holding Rural scoreless in the 1st half was encouraging.
The Spartans fall to 3-2-1. They are scheduled to play at Topeka High on Thursday.
