Traffic is getting back to normal — to a degree — on parts of West Sixth affected by water main repairs.
On Wednesday, Emporia Public Works had to excavate after a small leak on a 4-inch line was discovered between Elm and Arundel. That work forced traffic to go down to one lane in both eastbound and westbound directions.
Traffic now is back to two lanes, both eastbound and westbound, but the center lane is still blocked. It may be Friday before the center lane blockage is removed.
